  • Decades! I was first pulled into a studio to record a voice over, age 17, at Moray Firth Radio in Inverness. I’d just started broadcast training and couldn’t believe someone wanted to pay me £7 for the thrill of recording a local commercial! Since then, I’ve working with local and regional radio stations (eg Bauer + Global Media), national TV and Radio networks (eg STV, BBC) and national and global brands, including Ethical Consumer, Coop Food, BT, Scottish Government, Marie Curie, National Geographic, and Radisson. A lot has changed over years but it’s still a privilege and joy every time I step into my ‘magic box’, speak to a producer ‘down the line’, and press record.

  • AI technology is tough to escape but I formally signed up to a new initiative, Verified Human, to express my commitment to share only my real voice and words with the world. I have been asked to consider letting AI use my likeness but it reminds me of when the Little Mermaid sold her voice to the sea witch and that didn’t turn out so well… So I’ll continue to produce work with what comes from my own creative spirit and hope these human-to-human connections will contine to have a positive ripple effect.

  • Coaching, talk therapy, and counselling are often confused because offering a non-judgemental, confidential space to share your thoughts is typically at the heart of all these helping professions. However, there are important distinctions and understanding these ensures clients/patients receive the correct support, while keeping practitioners within their scope of practice. Here’s my way of explaining the key difference:-

Struggling to keep your head above water? Getting caught up in the flotsam and jetsam?

Therapy and counselling deals with deep rooted cognitive and emotional issues including mental health and trauma. With this in mind, if you feel overwhelmed by your emotions; past or present trauma; if you’re worried that you’re not coping with daily life; or if you’re in mental health crisis, please seek clinical support from your local GP, the NHS, or a registered counsellor / therapist. I can recommend Fife-based Ebb and Flow Counselling. Urgent support is also available on 116 123 via The Samaritans, or via Breathing Space on 0800 838 587 or Text "SHOUT" to 85258.

Feel like you’re treading water but eager (or even excited!) to move forward?

  • Well, I’ve always had plenty to say…but it turns out there’s also a lot to be said for listening! When we offer another person the chance to really talk, the sense of clarity and possibility that emerges can be transformational.

Over the years, I’ve noticed how many people feel so much lighter when someone they can trust sits down and truly listens to them, without judgement. I’ve also noticed, in our increasingly disorientating, distracting and disconnected world, how rarely this happens.

As a Wellbeing Coach, I give you space to hear yourself think, speak your own wisdom, and see your way forward. I find it deeply rewarding and believe that now, more than ever, we can benefit from human-to-human communication, creativity, and connection.

  • Acoustic wave, for me, symbolises the creative power of sound and speech…

According to ancient philosophies, our universe was created by the vibration of acoustic waves.

Also known as sound waves, or Om, this creative force moves through and connects all life.

In the same way, when we allow our wellspring of thoughts, beliefs, and emotions to flow into spoken words - acoustic waves - we create ripples that can transform our reality.
